Understanding your Child
Have you ever had a difficult time understanding your child? This class explores various personalities types along the 7 Rays and will help you in seeing why you and your child may be similar or different. You'll do a brief personality analysis and learn ways of interacting with various personality types.

Freedom of Movement for Infants
Did you know that infants NEED freedom of movement?
Did you know infant car carriers and walkers greatly limit movement?
Did you know daily floor time is essential for an infants well being?
Today, with fast paced living, infants sometimes spend HOURS in car carriers, both in cars and inside the house! Infants need FREEDOM of movement in order to develop physically, emotionally and mentally.
During these classes videos of children practicing the teachings of pediatrician, Dr. Emmi Pikler and child therapist Magda Gerber will be shown. They illustrate the subtle and varied positions children move through when allowed to move freely.
Sharon Ann Wikoff has studied with Magda Gerber and Charlotte Selver, and the teachings of Dr. Emmi Pikler, all teachers of Authentic movement and the importance of it to physical, emotional and mental well being. Sharon holds a teaching credential for Adult Education: Child Study. She hosts the weekly radio program Family Hour and writes a column entitled "Listening 2 Children" in the West County Gazette.

Radio Broadcasting for Children & Teens
This is a class for children and teens from 10 - 13 years of age who would like to experience the wonderful world of radio! Students will learn how to create a FCC approved Station identification, practice voice clarity, and practice reading stories and poem for broadcasting over the air. The last day of class, students will visit KGGV in Guerneville and create a CD of their station identifications, stories and poems which will be aired on KGGV.

with Alzheimer's or Mental Dementia
Santa Rosa Recreation and Parks will offer this class on connecting and communicating with loved ones or clients with Alzheimer's or Mental Dementia. True listening, allows a person to be heard and respected. Even though times can be very challenging, staying present can be a practice which eases challenging situations.
