Listening is truly an ART. Once that ART is learned, it can be applied to all ages and all situations. In today's busy world, the gift of LISTENING is truly that, a gift. Being present to the moment and completely aware in that moment, is essential to the process of listening. Watching another's body language and hearing the unsaid as well as the spoken words allows one to listen with mind, body and spirit.

The 10 Minute Miracle is an excellent technique to connect with shy or challenging children! In addition, it can be used with ANY child, just to deeply connect! Daddy, Why Are We Different?

This is a very powerful story written to be read to a young boy of 5 or 6 years of age, telling him why is was not circumsised. It explains in children's understanding, why and how a little boy's Mom and Dad made that decision.
Personally, I did not know the horrors that go on behind closed doors when an infant is being circumcised. When I discovered the facts, I was shocked.

Freedom of Movement for Infants
Did you know that infants NEED freedom of movement?
Did you know infant car carriers and walkers greatly limit movement?
Did you know daily floor time is essential for an infants well being?
Today, with fast paced living, infants sometimes spend HOURS in car carriers, both in cars and inside the house! Infants need FREEDOM of movement in order to develop physically, emotionally and mentally.
During these classes videos of children practicing the teachings of pediatrician, Dr. Emmi Pikler and child therapist Magda Gerber will be shown. They illustrate the subtle and varied positions children move through when allowed to move freely.
Sharon Ann Wikoff has studied with Magda Gerber and Charlotte Selver, and the teachings of Dr. Emmi Pikler, all teachers of Authentic movement and the importance of it to physical, emotional and mental well being. Sharon holds a teaching credential for Adult Education: Child Study. She hosts the weekly radio program Family Hour and writes a column entitled "Listening 2 Children" in the West County Gazette.
